And There He Goes
This is where things got interesting. Our Good-byes were said. It was time to send him through security. This is where my momma heart stopped beating and when it started beating again I was not sure I was going to survive it. Kelly had to lead me, as I sobbed, through the airport back to the car.
Friends
We got to meet Elder O'Hagan and his family before we sent him off. This was such a relief to know that he would have friends as he headed to the other side of the planet. It was fun to connect with another family and we exchanged information. For both of us, this is our first missionary. We are praying that our tall thin Elders find plenty to eat and don't loose weight. They ended up traveling over to South Africa with a group of 24. Most of them will go on to Uganda.
Kelly got a picture text and I got a phone call from Atlanta Airport. It was good to hear from him and know that he arrived safely. The short leg was complete. Now we had the long night of travel over the churning Atlantic Ocean. Sleeping under those conditions was difficult for me. I hope he was able to get some shut eye.
